Logitech Implements Akamai EdgeComputing for Java to Extend Marketing-Driven, Promotional Contest
Expecting to drive 100 times its regular traffic level to its site for a single day in December 2002, Logitech needed an infrastructure in place that could support a new contest application while scaling to meet the expected traffic surge. Utilizing Akamai EdgeComputing for Java, Logitech was able to extend the application processing of its promotional contest out to the 'edge' of the Internet, thus avoiding network latency and the need for costly infrastructure over-provisioning.
