Mortgage Keywords Lead the Drop
San Francisco, June 7, 2005. From May 1-31, in the eight vertical markets tracked by the Fathom Online Keyword Price IndexÂT (KPIÂT), prices that advertisers paid to buy search engine keywords dropped on average 31 cents from last month, owing primarily to the drop in the mortgage keyword sector. The data reflects declines in all category sectors except automotive, which gained seven percent moving from .40 to .50 on average. Overall, since August 2004 when Fathom Online initiated its tracking, keyword prices have risen on average 2.6 percent monthly.
